I don’t even know what questions to ask.  How do I get started?

If you’ve never taught online, you may not know how to get started, or even what questions to ask. The rich array of resources available online may actually feel more overwhelming than helpful at this point. That’s perfectly understandable!

You may want to reach out to a fellow faculty member in your academic unit who is already teaching a course online and who may have insights about specific policies and tools that are important to consider. Additionally, you can reach out to the Instructional Technology Consultants, the Office for Faculty Excellence, or ITCS – Academic Technologies for a consultation session. Links for each are listed below. Sometimes it helps to simply talk with someone. A consultation session can give you a chance to talk about your goals and brainstorm potential ideas for accomplishing those goals – as well as strategies for quickly moving your face-to-face course materials online.
